Does your top five say anything about you? RP linked back to another blogger, who wrote this post suggesting that your top five can say a lot about you as a person (http://hontouni.com/zan/2009/10/28/what-does-your-top-5-anime-say-about-you/). I decided to check this out. Let’s take my top 5 anime:
1. Princess Tutu
2. K-On
3. Haibane Reimei
4. Kino’s Journey
5. Rozen Maiden

It’s definitely an interesting mix, some classics, one cult favorite, and a couple where the quality of them it debated. Looking at this, I’d say it shows two sides to my personality, one that values deep thought and contemplation, the other half that I like mindless fun. Which is actually surprisingly true, I cycle between an intellectual and the class clown at school.

The other common theme I can draw from this is the common theme about characters fighting with themselves to overcome a flaw or a mental illness, especially when they don’t always succeed and give in to weakness. This is not surprising in the least, especially if you know me.

The outlier of the set is K-On, which really amounts to that this show reminds me so much of the tight group of friends I had through most of high school.

Oh, and apparently I like cute girls. Who would have thought?

It’s interesting, but none of it reveals anything about me that I didn’t know. What I do really like it’s interesting to see how my own insecurities and quirks lead into what has ended up as my favorite anime.

lolwut? K-ON on your top 5 anime list? Are you trolling me? wwwww
Agree! The only top 5 anime list I would put K-On on is top 5 worst, which I may create right now, and K-On might not even be on it.
And here come the trolls out of the wood work… We get it, a lot of people don’t like K-On… FFS…
…it would help if you read WHY K-On is on my top five. -.- It just has a major sentimental value to me.
@trolls: Don’t you have some porn to go fap to? Run along, now.
I have yet to definitely pick my top five… but considering it’d likely contain FMA, D.Gray-man, Bleach, Higurashi, and Soul Eater, I think I see a “girls with weapons” trend here. :) ‘Nuff said?
What sad is comments like that don’t do much but make me blink twice. XD
Haha, yes. You like girls that can stand on their own and kick ass.
Being violent is not the same as being free or standing on one’s own. Maka is a perfect example actually.
wtf?!
