Baseball Playing Girls final impressions

I finally finished Baseball Playing Girls.

I was a little disappointed by the ending. It was a for me a ‘Okay, what was the point of watching this?’ moment. Then I realized the girls still did prove what they needed to prove. The cute epilogue also made me feel better.  There’s not too much else to say, it was a cute ride. I think the main thing that bugs me is this show could easily have been longer, and I think Baseball Playing Girls would have been better if it was longer. The main problem with Baseball Playing Girls is there were so many characters and so little screentime, the characters didn’t become that fleshed out, and instead, the whole thing felt a little 2D. However, if this was a 24 or so episode series, there would have been plenty of time to flesh out the characters and give them all some depth. There were some moments in the final episode where I found myself thinking, “Dang, xxx is awesome, I wish I knew more about her.” Still, I had a fun enough time watching it.

They might not have been able to prove that they can win, but they did manage to garner respect out of it all. It’s a step forward and a significant one in that they managed to change a few minds in the process, and that’s not exactly a simple feat.
