NOOOOOO!
One guy down. For awhile I thought it would essentially be down two guys, as Hakko would be useless losing him, but luckily the photographer was able to pull her out of a depression—at least enough that she stops trying to kill everyone else.
I really hate the one girl who’s desperate for Alphard’s attention. I can’t even be bothered to remember her name. She’s such a joke, I want to punch her in the face. Even though I guess she’s being pretty successful right now, but she’s the biggest joke to ever come upon villianhood. Ugh. If it wasn’t for her sadistic streak, she’d just be weighing Alphard down.
Oh, and we end the episode with a betrayal. Shiny!
But Liang Qi (the crazy one) is so cute and adorable when she’s crazy. ;-)
It was a pretty horrible bait and switch, but I thought Hakko should’ve saw that coming. It was careless of her to walk in with voices blazing.
Yeah, Hakko should have definitely known better. Maybe she’ll get a chance to finish Liang Qi off…
I think Liang Qi did quite well, most villains these days seem destined to lose no matter what, but Liang Qi managed to use deception to thrust tragedy onto Santana and Hakko. If Liang Qi failed every attempt at villainy then she would be a joke, but here she succeeded marvelously making you angry because Santana died.
It’s because she is sadistic that she can kill Santana in a manner that would make Glaurung proud, in a way it is a throw back to older methods of villainy. This was no ass pull and certainly letting Hakko be the voice of Santana’s death made it all the more interesting. Liang Qi could have simply killed Santana on camera, but because she didn’t she displayed superior cunning and guile. Liang Qi might be crazy, but this just confirms that she can be dangerous and should no be taken lightly.
As an advocate of Glaurung class villainy it was almost as delicious as how Glaurung destroyed Turin and his sister, which was in turn improved upon by Melkor when Hurin was freed leading to a series of major defeats for Melkor’s enemies. Brute force is rather unimaginative, manipulation of people is far higher on the scale of evil than merely racking up a kill count. Liang Qi broke Hakko, and gave her a far more cruel fate than if Liang Qi merely killed Hakko and Santana.
Good point. I guess I shall have explained, what makes me mad about her is her motivations. She’s doing is because she wants Alphard’s love and approval, I guess I just wish her motivation had more depth then that.
