Episode 10 proved to be subtlety dramariffic.
Things didn’t really get interesting until Sugimoto decided to accompany Akira to hang out with Fumi. I don’t know what exactly she hoped to accomplish with this, seriously. It seemed to me like a really bitchy move. Then comes the point where Fumi proved something shocking about herself.
Fumi actually has a spine!
Of course, this is only a sign of what’s to come.
And the Panama Canal is just a ditch
We get Sugiomoto’s sob story, which really isn’t that sad, or makes me feel a bit of pity for her. She didn’t get the guy she wanted. Cry moar. But through this scene, Sugimoto revealed two things about herself that showed she wasn’t a total bitch. One, she had enough of a conscious to realize what she did to Fumi was wrong. Second of all, through her flashback, she realized the follies of her past.
I still don’t like her.
Still, I had to feel sorry for her in the final scene. Fumi told Sugimoto off in her own quiet way, and said some of the most painful words to hear from another person.
Burn baby burn.
So, all that’s left is one more episode. Here’s to hoping that Akira and Fumi hook up
