My most highly anticipated show for this season. But will it hold up to my high expectations?

Welcome to Harper's Island!

Well, it’s too early to tell. Most of the episode was being introduced to characters, which was boring as hell. I’ll never remember all their names anyway. To be honest, I do hope some of them get killed off, otherwise there will be too many to make the story effective. Unless they never appear or something. We haven’t even met all of the characters yet.

As there was a lot of introductions, there wasn’t any chance to get a good grip on their personalities. Still the ones we’ve met seem rather shallow–keep in mind that their are still characters to meet. Also need to remember  Higurashi, part of the charm of the series was showing a complex, or at each least different side to these seemingly shallow characters.  We did see a little of that in the first episode alone, so I’m trying to not to be put off by this.

All the other parts aside from that were pretty interesting, and have me hooked. I do want to see how the mystery plays out, and find out what’s up with Beatrice. The part where the aunt loses it was pretty intense as well, and I have a feeling this is only a taste of what’s coming up.  While child abuse is bad, I thought it was kinda cool of the anime to point out that Maria was too old to be acting like a typical loli.

Typically creepy loli is typical, but she's sooo cute.

Boob jokes are annoying. DO NOT WANT!

Isn't there someone like this at every family reunion?

I actually cannot wait to meet Beatrice. I hope it's soon!
