Hatsukoi Limited:Final Impressions

And with episode 12, we reach the end.

I’ve heard many people say how they wish there was more, but I disagree with the statement. I like where this ended…for the most part, I would have liked to see Enomoto and Kusuda kiss. The opening is open ended and full of possibilities, but I like it that. It’s optimistic, full of hope, and we’re left to decide what road the characters take. There may not be any more source material, but there’s always fanfiction.

Overall, I think I liked the individual stories of each person that filled most of the anime rather then the episodes containing everyone at the end. I just personally felt that those were the stronger stories, and easier to relate to. While the ‘everyone’ episodes were entertaining, I just wasn’t as impressed with them. Regardless whether it was an individual episode or an ‘everyone’ episode, almost every episode contains moments of pure honesty about love.

I have to give kudos to this anime for being honest about the emotion of love, and not just the happy, ‘Yay, he loves me too’, but the many different sides of this complex emotion.

I was also pretty impressed by how much the characters had developed at the end of the anime. Well, almost everyone. Some such as Kiyoi who served to only be comic relief or creepy, didn’t really change at all. It’s okay Kiyoi, I love you anyway.

I wish my hair did that.

I wish my hair did that.

Overall, I would say this anime was a success. Probably what it’s most comparable to this season is K-On, but while it pretty much offered the same things, it was overall better in almost every aspect.

This show also contained my second favorite ending theme of the season, only beaten by K-On.
