OTL is back with more Kanon CD dramas, recently releasing tracks 4-6 of Akiko-san no hirugohan, the third disc in the series. This one took a little more effort because of the artwork, but their releases are always worth the wait.

The Speed Gamers – Gaming for Charity

And now for something completely different… unless you visit the soon-to-be linked forums and check the anime topic…

The Speed Gamers is a group of guys from Texas that run gaming marathons to raise money for charity.  So far, they’ve run 6 marathons, raising over $20000 (USD), which I’d say is pretty impressive for a bunch of gamers.  Starting on May 15th at 6 PM CST, which is the weekend after Acen and Mother’s Day for those of you keeping score, they’ll begin another marathon, this time the Mother series.  It’s probably better known by the name Earthbound in the States.  They’ll be running 72 hours, all the way into Monday, with proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen foundation, dedicated to the fight against breast cancer.  And because just watching games isn’t entertaining enough, they’ve also got commentators, some of which will do some pretty crazy things on the air (last marathon one commentator maced himself).

CJ and I have both joined their community, it’s very active and made up of lots of friendly people; if you’ve got time, check out the forums.  I’ll be spending the majority of that weekend in the chat, and if you’ve ever wondered what an 800+ person chat looks like, well this is your chance.  So if you’ve got some spare time, swing by and enjoy some entertainment.  If you’ve got a bit of spare change lying around, donate to support the cause.  And spread the word to your friends.  We do a lot of things within our community of anime lovers.  Let’s try and give back a bit to the world community surrounding us.

I can’t blame any of them, I guess… She’s the best of the series, in my opinion. :P Followed by Mugi-chan.

Full Metal Panic! Licensed For Film By US Company

In another example of the rising trend of ambitious anime-to-live-action US-based projects, Mandalay Pictures has acquired the film rights to the original Full Metal Panic! light novel series. No word has been released on direcotrs or writers, and no preliminary release year has been announced. Zac Efron is allegedly being considered for an unspecified role.
