Not as crazy as I expected, but a decent start, especially once Torako (the main character) got introduced.

Ayumi, a freshman at Kamizono High School, gets lost on the way to her class, and wanders around until she finds another freshman, Iizuka. After realizing that non-newbie Iizuka doesn’t have any idea where she’s going either, the two wander around for a while.

Yeah. Like Hinano said, that’s pretty much the first 10 minutes of the episode. Then Torako leaps out a window with a scream of ninja justice and almost breaks her ankle. She is quickly followed by Suzu, another freshman, and the four set off to find their classroom.

Following the philosophy “Just keep going straight!”, they cut across gardens and elementary classrooms in an attempt to get to the building full of classrooms they can see across campus. (Yeah, it’s a big school.) After wandering around more, Torako and Iizuka get into a fight, but Ayumi breaks it up by using the school’s GPS system on her phone to attempt to get a location.

The system fails, however, when it asks for a registration fee. Despite her frustration, Torako thanks Ayumi for her efforts as Iizuka realizes a door they can use is right across the courtyard from them.

Unfortunately, the door is locked. Suzu’s attempts to get the door open result in the knob coming off in her hand, and Torako finally snaps and attempts to throw a brick through the nearest window. (Yandere much?)

Iizuka tries to stop her, but the brick flies out of Torako’s hands and throught the window. A teacher sees what happens, but Torako silences him by kidney-punching him and fleeing with the others. The teacher finds out who they were later, though, and rants at them how he wants to punch Torako back, but can’t because it would be considered sexual harassment. He lets them off with a warning. Torako tries to make nice with the other girls, but gets yelled at (presumably by Iizuka). Cue very nice ending song.

As annoying as the first 9.5 minutes were, Ayumi’s assorted dillemas were mostly understandable. Iizuka’s tsundere-ness was just stupid, though; I think she’s my least favorite character. Torako’s awesome, though (I’m assuming most of you caught that Tora = Tiger, Ko = daughter/child of, right? ^_^) and I hope gets more screen time eventually. (They act like she’s the main character and all, y’know?)

Overall, not a bad start; I hope the other girls featured in the awesome OP (including the one I’ve dubbed Sleepyko <3) get introduced soon too. <3
