According to some rumors found on 2ch and translated, D.Gray-man’s last episode (103) will be airing September 30. The rumors in question apparently indicate that the anime will be ending with the end of the defeat of a certain very important Akuma in the Black Order Invasion Arc (fans of the series know what I’m talking about; didn’t want to spoil anything :P) and will not be continuing on to future manga canon arcs. The reason is allegedly related to the Japanese TV ratings and DVD sale, which are lacking when compared to the other major long-running anime out there (One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, etc etc etc.)
But wait… what? Makes some sense and all, with the manga material quickly running out (DRAW MOAR, HOSHINO-SENSEI) but couldn’t they easily add more filler after that arc? The mini-arc after the Invasion Arc is technically filler anyway, since it does extremely little to advance the plot.
Of course, this fangirl wants moar animated Lavi-ness, so perhaps I’m missing the point: Low TV ratings and low DVD sales = not good. Come on, my overseas otaku bretheren, LET D.GRAY-MAN LIVE! Please?

Hi, I randomly found this site through Nano. I think the begining of this anime turned alot of people away. In my opinion the evil boss clown looked ridiculous and the entire skeleton demon thing was disturbing. I loved Miranda’s story but she’s just a minor character so yeaa… I’m not surprised to see this show end “early” (130 episodes is still alot).
i dont get it they end dgm at a stupid scene but i would like to see more because i want to learn more about the other people like the generals what did they do all i saw them do was stand around

Okay as much as I like the long series shows and all, that pretty much sucks that they are totally stealing the lime light for great new shows like this one [Naruto is especially daunting]. I really really hope to god that there will be big reconsideration to this because in all honesty there is just WAY too much stuff in this show that will go unanswered and will just make people want more.

I’m not watching D. Gray Man, I’m only reading the manga, at the begginig I didn’t thought that the anime would advance so slowly, but yes, the manga goes waaaaay too fast for this series. The quality of the OP’s is amazing tough… thy should really give it a second thought at that ending. In MY humble opinion ths tops Bleach, One Piece and Naruto too, I can’t believe it has low ratings, being such an epical and interesting series, with an absolutely beutiful main character (Not talking about Allen phisically, I love him because he’s totally unique) We need more Kandaness and Laviness too, I already had to much Lenaleeness xD. Don’t fear, D.Gray Man fans! The reason the anime is ending has nothing to do with low DVD sales, etc. The studio simply opted to put D.Gray Man on hiatus now since the anime has caught up with the manga (the final episode 103 correlates to Chapter 153 of the manga, only 160 chapters have been published). As of Chapter 154, D.Gray Man enters something called “next stage.” Barring unforseen cancellations or extreme lack of demand, D.Gray Man should be back during the fall or winter season of 2009.

Now for more good news. We have heard and have quite a lot of evidence that the D.Gray-Man anime will indeed go on. They are simply taking a break so that the anime does not catch up to the manga. Some people are saying the anime will start again in October, which would mean not even a break at all really, and some are saying they will start in late December. @everyone: I’d love to believe that a continuation of the DGM anime is coming, but judging by the state of the anime industry in Japan (as well as the US, obviously) I’m not sure if I can see it happening.
It would make sense for them to continue, though, simply because the DGM manga is probably just going to get more and more epic, and an anime that reflects that would be smart for the companies to produce, IMHO.
I liked DGM alot but as all other extremly long series, it shoud have ended when Allen lost he’s arm. Same with Bleach they shoud have ended after they saved Rukia. One piece not even gona see a single eps. Naruto was good until the last part of the exam started then it just got childish and i woud just rather watch Bob the builder. They shoud just stick to the 24 – 26 eps maybe in sometimes upp to 50 eps but i think that woud be to long but thats just my thoughts im sure alot of you like the very long storys
Actually, if they ended at Allen’s arm–it will be a horrible ending and the series will be plummeted with low ratings. Also, Katsura Hoshino is a deep person, if you had notice on volume three it showed an indication that Allen is part of the Noah (even though techinically it’s the 14th not him) If you’re wondering why Road smiled, and that when Allen said, “I wish I had relatives” (that was a dead serious frame), It was all indications that Katsura Hoshino literally planned out the whole series all the way to the beginning to the end.
My reason is that, if it ends there it would be horrible and will not be satisfying, like what I said before Katsura Hoshino planned it–even though it was horrible that Allen lost his arm but it turned into the awesome CROWN CLOWN!!!!!!!!!!
yeah its right when Allen lost his left arm i was like in a depresion to see this and i had to wait around 8 or 10 ep later to see the crown clown.this suspense maked the anime to become even more epic

D.gray-man is just as popular as bleach and naruto in the US. If the would air english dubbed episodes more people would now about it. I’ve read all the the mangas and watched all the episodes even 103 and the way it ended broke my heart and I’m pissed. I don’t even know if I can keep reading the manga. This is some major bs! Where they left of in the War against the Earl they could have easily made another 100 episodes. But it appears D.gray-man is just another anime that goes unfinished. (Air Gear, Kenichi, Tenjou Tenge, etc.) Hopefully Naruto and Bleach don’t pull the same thing.

Well, D. Gray-Man has been licensed for an English dub by Funimation so we will be seeing that in a bit. I just hope that they cast it well(One Piece is…well…it could have been much better)
I don’t know how I feel about D. Gray-Man’s end. I’m happy that we wont be seeing endless and pointless filler(looking at you Naruto and Bleach), but I really didn’t want an Inuyasha finish here.
I mean they fight and fight, have a huge drama occur and then what do we get? A hint of what’s to come but are told fin?
If they did have plans to resume it couldn’t they at least announce it publicly instead of through random rumors?

I digress… I loved D.Gray-man for awhile, but the arcs that felt like fillers were annoying me, and it was beginning to turn into another Dragon Ball Z and Naruto, where it would take 3-4 episodes for something interesting to happen. I just finished Episode 103, and this final arc was excruciatingly long. I loved the final few episodes, none the less.

Read a history book. It was hardly a one-sided “let’s poke the bee-hive” action. Japan was conquering through Asia, and this prompted the US to begin readying themselves for a potential threat. Btw, I believe it was America that helped pull the Japan economy up by introducing infrastructure and technology to Japan, since the US unleashed the flames of the atomic bomb.

umm false. D.Gray-Man WILL continue again next year. Some time in october. The new eps are gonna come out a bit after they introduce the english version in the U.S. Its just that the writer needs to “catch up”. He is starting to slow down and comes out with basically 3 manga eps every 1 tv show ep. He doesnt want to be stuck at a later point in the series. thats all. so YES it is returning and YES im positive. Theres alot they had to leave out in episode 103. because they didnt want to give to much info otherwise they probably wud have had to go to episode 110-115 and the writer wasnt that far yet

This anime is really good, but as always the fillers damages the plot… the character of Allen Walker has gone far of my espectations, his past, present and future is incredible, one of the most incredible characters I have seen so far, all the characters have UNIQUE stories such as Miranda , lavi (as a bookman), Cross Marian, Arystar Krory, Leena Lee’s past, I have originaly read the manga before the anime and I prefer the manga which has a good art work and you can read the main story line without any fillers. The reason of the low rating is due to the filler who repeated the same storyline over and over (strange thing hapening, investigate, akuma, mistery solved), the fillers completely destroyed the plot and made the audience get bored. the legacy of Allen Walker wich has not been published in the anime is incredible, the past, the 14th, the noah’s, Allen’s eye, the ark, Road & the awakening of Tiki Mikk, the evolution of the Innocence. The thing is that this anime is so kickass but there never was so much audience since everybody just puked on the fillers, reason why I stopped looking at the anime and continued the manga.
@ Justin: Dear, no offense or anything, but use logic from the previous posts. The anime is forestalled because of the lack of manga material. If Hoshino-san can’t continue the manga due to his health, then how would the anime continue? O
H, AND BTW PEOPLE, THIS IS RANDOM, BUT HOSHINO KATSURA IS. A. GUY. If you want a source, READ THE ACTUAL MANGA (in book form at a bookstore). In the author’s notes/ bonus comic pages in the back, he is ALWAYS shown as a guy, he is ALWAYS referred to as a guy. Seems like that’s a bit too much for a typo in the English version, isn’t it?

Yes, it could merely be that we’re out of manga material again, but there have been other rumors circulating that The DVD sales were quite low after all. I belive the anime will go on after this. seeing as the last scene after , the credits I think it was, left too much unansered. also postponing the anime is alot better than what bleach did with the princess filler, and the gap in episodes will make the rating even higher when it comes back unlike bleach where I stopped watching it for a few weeks

D.Gray-man has the best character designs I’ve seen. The style and costumes are far better than Naruto, One Piece, and to some extent, Bleach. Maybe alot of people just don’t like the dark theme, the twisted villains and the religious-order arrangement with the pentagrams and the crosses.
The other long-running anime like Naruto, One Piece and Bleach have bad-ass bosses whereas the Millenium Earl, though menacing, is hard to take seriously. The fighting animation and fighting styles are also very different. Naruto and One Piece has unique styles and Bleach has an orderly system of techniques. In the DGM anime, techniques just pop in and out with no real method or origin.
Low demand for this show? Really now, what could have caused that? Could it be the tons of filler? The terrible plot holes? Seriously now, can they really expect to dish out this “DBZ” level 4 bullsh*t and expect their show to do well? The fights where nothing happens, and its just lights flashing. It’s pathetic.
I started to watch the series because I believed it had good potential, but once they added in the vampire, I realized this show had gone off it’s tracks. For some reason I expected the story to get better instead of worse, and I truly believed that in the ark those characters who died would be dead. “Good” I thought, this story is finally closing up, character’s on both sides are dieing (Unfortunately it’s a repetitive one for each side many times which is unrealistic). Unfortunately, the ark was restored to a classy piano number, and the story could continue for many more episodes. Perhaps its just me, but I really can’t stand filler. Some of the best manga and anime I have ever come across have been only 24 episodes long. Hellsing, only 13 episodes in length, was much better than this. Several years ago I was watching “Inuyasha” while it aired on the TV, and it got the point where you had to ask yourself “Why am I STILL watching this?”. If a show allows you to ask yourself that question, it is better that it ends then and there.
I’d give DGM a rating of 2.5/5 stars, damn I mean I’d really give it a 3/5 if I could have my time back XD

but a story with an ending where most of the chars die is depressing and not good…just he ep.6 of Star Wars…..besides they havent reveiled who the imp person Kanda has to find before he dies…..and nobody has reached the lvl of power where where its god-like…many action mangas and animes have that as their ending
the last episode i saw was when they defeated the level four akuma, after that they left on a cliffhanger leaving all the people who watched this great anime confused and sad thinking the anime was not going to continue.(including me :() I’ve watched and read the manga and really enjoyed both SO PLZZZZ CONTINUE THIS ANIME AND MAKE US ALLL HAPPY :D
k no effence spite but this show may have a crappy villian and so wat theres a vampire guy in this anime!! it still lasted quite a while and kept all of us busy, and im not sure wat your talkin about when you said that it had plot holes geez just because your not confident in watching more then a couple episodes in an anime, dont go acting like you know alot. the animes with less then 25 episodes r shit! thats because the people who make those kinds of animes dont have any good plots for the show so they try to finish it fast, and they have a low talorance for patiance as well, thats why their animes suck!. some of the best animes ive ever liked and still do are long animes so dont go talkin shit about things that arnt true.

Haha. Umm… @ Spite. I know what you’re talking about; there ARE a lot of plot holes in the anime– for example, Kanda’s “person to find”. The manga’s just a bit covert about drawing those plot holes; Hoshino-sensei does a good job of putting a question out there just enough to get people interested in Kanda’s past (also, it leaves room for a lot of speculation and fanfictions ;D) and snatches it away just in time to replace it with the main storyline again.
And yes, although I do love D. Gray-man and think it a very original story, you do have to admit, there is a time when all things go bad and you have to say, “… Wow. I… that… that’s just… no.” Although I do love the characters, there IS a line that Hoshino-sensei crossed with that “classy piano number.” However, that is part of the plot, like it or not, and fans were happy to see the return of their beloved characters (“KANDA <333 OMGOMGOMG HE’S BACK! -fangirl squeal-” << my actual reaction to the part….).
Probably the most captivating thing about this series, though, isn’t the action scenes, isn’t the weird plot, but the characters. D. Gray-man has probably the most original characters I’ve ever seen, especially for a shonen manga (not saying anything bad, but hey. You know it’s true). The main character is practically a martyr, while all the other main characters are… to put it bluntly, overstretched. I’m not hating on Bleach or anything with this, but although Ichigo could be considered a martyr, Kubo-senesi overplays it just a little too much and it makes him seem as if he doesn’t value his life at all. Which he does. Allen, on the other hand, could be seen in both ways– Hoshino-sensei doesn’t overstretch his martyrdom, and that also leaves room for speculation and fanfictions. Hoshino-sensei also comes up with a solid cast, with mysterious yet energetic Lavi, kind Lenalee, and (KICK-ASS AWESOME) jerk Kanda.
But honestly, I love this series to bits. I can, though, imagine why it’s not as popular as the others. For one, it seems pretty repetitive and long. 109 pieces of Innocence to track down? It sounds like another Inuyasha. And heck– those filler sidecharacter stories were interesting, but I didn’t have the patience for it, going from the manga to the anime. How many people did? The voices were hot, though… (OH, KANDA <3 I wouldn’t mind listening to HIS voice all day….)
So, uhh, for clarification, the manga has been continued (and yes, it is awesome. Take my word for it), and the anime will be continuing in either October or in winter? … Hmm. Wouldn’t it be awesome if they released the next episode on Christimas/Allen’s birthday? :D That’d be cool.
This has to be a joke. Serious. I will not let this anime be put to rest like that. I mean like… goddammit, they teased us with the glimpse of the new outfits, the Noah’s return… like, God, can you say loose ends left untied or what?
I saw Tykki and I was all like “YES! I get my Noah man-candy back.” but then, the anime was all like “fin” and I pretty much died. Denying me my Tykki, and the right to find out who has her ruddy paws on Kanda? I’m about to seek out whoever decided it would be a good idea to stop D.Gray-man, and fucking innocence-rape them. Get fucking Edge End over here and stab the wickedness out of them.

I personally liked the piano song. I’m never one to say that an anime is lame, especially after watching it for 90-some-odd episodes or whatever. But it was kind of ridiculous. I was sitting there like “Really? You’re going to kill off three of the best characters ever conceived? Good luck with that.”
Although I was glad for the death of Chaoji. “Exorcist-sama! Exorcist-sama! etc. etc.”
But then they came back, and I was kind of happy, mostly because I got my Lavi back, and because they didn’t let that adorable Krory die. However, it had me thinking, if they can do this now, what about the rest of the anime? Like, that pretty much gives them free reign to just resurrect characters left, right and centre. Anywho, I just really hope what SoraRyuuzaki said at the end was right. I’m going now to check out the Manga, and if they don’t find it suitable for anime continuation, I’m pretty sure somebody’s going to be brutally murdered.

Back to DGM, Ok, I’ll admit that I felt that the episodes where Allen tries to recover his arm were boring, but after like ep 50 the show turned out to be more and more amazing. More the reason why they should go on.
I don’t think that DGM will end just like that. When you watch ep. 103, it looks like the exorcists’ mission continues and as Allen had said “Thwarting the Millennium Earl’s wish for the fall of humanity is the very reason we exist!” Since the Earl and the Noah clan is still alive and kicking, it is pretty stupid finishing the anime without leaving a good impression that the exorcists did that (dispatching the Earl and his minions). I believe they just took a break. (Pausing is a lot better than putting a bunch of fillers, like what they did at Naruto)
AND IT IS A SHAME TO DISCONTINUE A VERY UNIQUE ANIME LIKE D GRAY MAN!!!!!
Even the first few episodes are a bit creepy, it becomes more interesting and their weapons gets stronger as the anime/manga continues to move on. And their past is intriguing, especially Kanda’s. Hoshino-san doesn’t reveal yet the person that makes Kanda live on. Also, I wanted to know more about General Cross Marian, he’s one of the most mysterious people in the story. It’s just that he knows too much about the whole thing and makes me speculate about him.
But I don’t think also that the new anime will start soon. The manga chapters are still to few to air an anime for few weeks (185 is the current manga chapter).

I really have to admit, I was crying when DGM ended. I cannot believe people would watch Naruto with its stupid fillers and dancing frogs when you have DMG.
Bleach is cool, however recently it does not compare with DMG. As for One Piece, I took one look at it and felt stupid.

Well I have a reason to the “FIN” in the end of 103. It said that on many series when the were making more. Like Naruto from Naruto Ship. Or shugo chara to shugo chara doki. know what I mean?

Every week a long running anime airs a filler you hear nothing but whining and complaining from fans that should know better. Some of those fans run off to a manga site and read ahead, then drop back into a anime discussion forum dropping major spoilers all the while telling everyone how they will never watch the anime again. We wish they would, but unfortunately they keep coming back.
Oddly enough even when the fillers end other fans cry about the how they expect more filler in the future. Unbelievable, complaining that there isn’t a filler to complain about…
This isn’t a rant, but a question to those who plague us all about the obvious, isn’t the fact that D-gray-man ended on story rather than continuing of fillers? This is it man, the ‘thing’ you all have been asking for!! NO FILLERS! The anime gods have heard your cries!

But the thing is AntiSpiral, they left the show on a massive cliffhanger. It’s like, what was the point of the show to begin with if the didn’t give it a resolution? The whole show was based off the battle with the Earl, so why in the end, where in like the last 5 episodes, would they throw in 50 new ideas and questions into your head? It seems unfair to the fans to end the show now. I’m not asking for or complaining about filles, I just want a sensible resolution. You don’t read a book that gives you a whole story and cuts out midway before its finished do you? I hate when anime does this, and D.Gray-Man already has broken past a normal series length so they might as well continue or risk damaging reputations like so many have had done before.
… IF there is no continuation, especially with the author’s recent SECOND hiatus in the progression of the manga….. and someone’s planning a brutal murder somewhere….

I really do agree that they left so many loose ends, but currently the manga is too. Sadly, at this point, even if one does read the manga for more information, all they will find is a small amount of background on the 14th and the connection with a very determined Allen, (not exactly what you might think. =] And I was extremely thankful for that, but then the whole prospect of it seems cruel simutaneously…) MORE questions, and then a whole section of fillers (with the little jewel thief), before it heads back to Kanda. (Though I lack knewledge of whether or not that has to do with the actual over all plot..)
My curiousity is sparked. Anyone have any ideas as to where the author seems to be heading with this (presently vague) plot? Sometimes readers are able to foresee an outcome. But I fail to detect any possible turns or results.
But also, can anyone tell how there’s a plot for each character? The character development is simply amazing. Allen’s the main character, so of course, we can expect his story is the main plot… But everyone else has subplots that develop, almost flawlessly with the anime’s progression. Lenalee and Komui’s brother and sister relationship and emotional overflow, Kanda’s unbeknown past and mysterious beloved person (the connection with the flower, and his impending end), Lavi’s over bearing duties as the bookman’s successor but at the same time failing to accomplish staying apathetic to situations (=] In my personal opinion. He loves Lenalee. But she loves our Jesus charactor, Allen.) and his previous 48 alias, so who is he? Marian Cross’s surprising knewledge of the whole situation with the 14, and who was the person that informed Central on the 14th.
This is by far my favouriate anime for obvious reasons. =] I truly do look forward to a continuation this Fall/Winter, but… I beg to any God listening, that they do NOT give it some crappy extended name… Or call it “D. Gray-man 2″…I will CRY. Yes yes, very few options left. But hey. The plot’s original already! Just a little orginality in the name is not much of a jump.

As for the name of the anime. As for the “Gray-man” it is simple (Hoshino sensei said this herself): when black and white colours are mixed we get gray. It is obviously refers to Allen because of all this “I-live-for-both-human-and-akuma” thing. It means he’s neither black nor white, neither angel nor demon, just gray-man.
As for the letter “D” in the begining I’m not sure, but I have a pretty good guess. I think it has something to do with Allen too. Remember the skull which appears from Allen’s left eye during some episodes (the story about Krory and Eliade, for example)? When I saw it for the first time I didn’t pay it much attention thinking that it was Mana, but then I’ve come to know about the 14th. And when I was rewatching the anime it just struck me: the skull has letter “D” on it! It means it isn’t Mana. And if it isn’t Mana then it could be only the 14th. Maybe the name of that Noah began with “D”?
what i want to know is why is the piano notes of the arc written as Allen and Mana’s Code… i suspect Mana has something to do with the 14th but then again, when was Allen given the license???
another thing thats bugging me is, why is it that Allen being followed/began seeing the reflection of the 14th always hovering beside him… (i.e. while talking to Howard Link in the corridor the reflection on the window while carrying questionaires, while Allen and Link was brushing their teeth and Lavi with book man enters both on episode 96)

Umm… one thing that bothers me about this whole debate…
A lot of people have said that the series was cancelled due to flagging DVD sales and ratings. I can’t tell you anything about ratings, but, looking at the news links on the following page:

D.Gray Man DVD’s have been hitting the weekly top-seller lists in Japan repeatedly since September of last year. And ANN’s newsreels are as reliable a source for anime information as you’re likely to find in English, so long as you avoid user-edited parts of the site.
I can’t prove that D.Gray Man wasn’t failing in DVD sales when they decided to cancel it, but if so, it turned around -very- quickly; well within a month of the ending. Mind, I have no idea how ratings and viewers are doing, but since they were selling three-thousand D.Gray Man DVD on several of the aforementioned weeks, I suspect that there is at least ample evidence to suggest to the creators that D.Gray Man remains a potential source of profit to anyone willing to make the effort.
Didn’t you continue the manga? The ending of the anime kinda differs from the manga. I really really hate to admit it but I think this is the end of D.Gray-Man anime. But at least if they continue the manga?!:( Now that would be great.

Well what I think about that is that since they were probably planning to end the anime soon or they planned not to do the Zombie arc, they made that area differ from the manga. IMO if they made Krory crazy waking up they’d probably done the Zombie arc, cause he was like the start of it? I don’t really know though that’s just my guess.

I hope they don’t americanize (Like english dub voices IDK what its called) the voice actors for the show if there is more, cause I just can’t stand it O_o when they do that… the voices just don’t sound right anymore… eg. bleach Rukia in Japanese sounds way better than Rukia on TV in English (IMO they usually kill the voices O_o when they do something like that)

Also, for some reason, I don’t really find that D Gray-man had many fillers… All of it seemed somewhat important. Even though they did repeat a lot of the strange happenings -> search -> solve -> woot, kind of thing. To me though it didn’t seem like fillers, more like how the character’s are brought out into more depth and evolve. Also how more of the character is shown and revealed (eg. their past, motives, stuff like that).

Seems there could be more D.Grayman alot later than any of you expected although it could be completed by another major anime name this is only under discussion at the moment and nothing has been finalised but as of now D.grayman is still set to continue at a later date so be patient i cant say much more at this time till im told what directions being taken next.

Not sure is that information coming from the real sources or anything, but still, this is what they say on that site: “A plan for the new season of D.Gray-man Anime series is set for the late month of 2010. But a concrete word when it will really be isn’t yet clear.”
I do hope that is truly the truth because we have waited already more than enough for news like that! Of course the waiting time still is very long, but however, any news are good news for me. :) Hope this helped you guys as it helped me. I really hope this latest information is accurate and new episodes will be made and released in 2010. I can’t wait to see what else is in store for these characters since I don’t read the Manga. Plus, the ‘final’ episodes, 103, ended too abruptly and too open for them to not continue it at any point in the future. So, here’s to hoping for more DGM <3

Most people just said the same things. As of now, we still don’t have any signs of the anime coming back, but that is still most likely due to the lack of manga material. The manga is only at chapter 191 now, a mere 40ish chapters from the point in the manga where the anime ended.
well it has just entered 2010 and i am lookin for signs that DGM will release new seasons but by the looks of it, it has been over a year since the las ep 103 was released so who knows maybe but im not putting my hopes on it. i mean look how long it took for new inuyasha eps to be made. i agree with you all i like DGM but i dont agree with some people. i dont think naruto is gone down hill some arcs were boring but it all gets really interesting when naruto shippuuden started showing. every episode keeps me on the edge of my seat. i think naturo is awesome and even replaced my #1 spot which previously belonged to DBZ. bleach is ok but way too many filler arcs for its own good. id say it almost seems like half of the current existing 251 eps are filler shit that sux but it is good sometimes. so i will keep looking for signs of a possible new DGM but untill then i will just keep DL naruto shippuuden from taka fansubs. whick is also where you can find the new inuyasha’s. i dont like the jap voices cause i started watching in on adult swim and am used to the english voices so i can wait till the dubbs come out. naturo however had the most irritating english voice EVER!!! so i dont mind reading it. and to those of you are looking for a good anime to fill your time with i recomend yu-yu hakisho if you havent seen it.

it’s 2010 now and the anime is still not going T_T. but i still think the anime is gonna be out sometime, the manga has been changed from weekly to monthly now and so it would take sooo much longer for the manga to go far ahead of the anime now.
Well now that chapter 190 is out and D.Grayman has not returned… Is there any way to get this anime back on a role again… a signing of some sort… a giant buying spree anything so that it can come back??

If they did stop the anime because the manga is to close they will probably won’t start the anime until they’re ahead by like a lot of chapters(like 100 chapters). Unless they make so the anime comes out monthly also.

@inkenku – There’s really nothing we can do about it (well we could try petitions, but they usually fail). True, the manga is on chapter 191 now, but seeing how the anime left off around chapter 150 something, that’s still not enough material to start up the anime again. But I have good faith that the anime will continue once Hoshino gets back on track and recovers <3 Good things come to those who wait after all.

This show was extremely good but unfortunately others did not think so =(. But on the other hand lets not forget all the other good shows our very wonderful Japanese friends have created such as Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece. In my opinion these are the three best animes ever created and they are still going!!! They have fantastic reviews and extremely good story lines whereas D gray man only had a good story line. Also check out FMA and if you do go to the three animes I suggested b4, please watch Bleach first because it has the most action packed beginning. Then try Naruto and then please have patience with One Piece; it is very long and the beginning can be a bit slow and boring, but once you get into the story, you almost become one of the Straw Hats!! XD You’ll see what I mean. Also when you watch Bleach, your going to love to say the word “Bankai” because I know I cant restrain myself from doing it. I simply love saying it and as for naruto, I think its the best anime ever made in the history of Animes!!!!!!

Holaa!! i just finished watching DGM about three days ago and i have been endlessly searching for anything that says when its coming out again I do not have the exact website at the moment but i have found that the anime WILL be returning close to year 2011 if the manga does not get delayed again they series will continue some time in january!! this may be just a rumour im telling you now but i still have faith and i will wait the 10 months to see if ts true or not and i hope you all will wait with me :) LONG LIVE DGM!!!!

I just finished watching the anime today. Then ending wasn’t horrible but it also wasn’t great. I was like, “just when i’ve figured most everything out, it goes and adds more questions!” I came to a resolve of buying the manga which i am now doing. I’ve just gotten the first volume and Allen looks so kawaii!
Some advice to all you lovers of d.gray-man, if u rlly love it buy the manga and pray for Hoshino’s well being!!! I have no proof of anything but maybe once she finishes the manga they’ll start it up again. They probly don’t want to have her getting ill again and having to pause the anime at a intense spot so they may be waiting till it finishes. Just use your brains people!!! There are many possibilities xD
I’m very sad for the animes end as well but i will be hoping for more d.gray-man. It’s a beautifully well crafted anime and the appearances of Akuma are amazing and grotesque xD Hevlaska is also a very beautiful being. Hmm that’s about all i have to say. So just keep hoping for more episodes everyone and support Hoshino by buying her manga ^w^
Oh yeah i forgot, one more thing. The ending gives you way to manyt hing unanswered right? So maybe they will, for sure, at some point, continue the anime. Or they might just want you to go and buy the anime but lets all be positive and hope for the anime’s continuation. I really love it and i’ll miss Lavi’s adorable nicknames T^T I’m gunna miss his voice. Though i can still see the nicknames in the manga!!!! bwahaha. I honestly believe the anime series will continue, based on what I’ve read in multiple places(trust me, I’ve been searching too -_-) it looks like what mostly everyone has been saying; the anime will continue after the manga gets far enough ahead so they don’t catch up with it. The reason behind them saying “Fin” at the end of episode 103 is because of Hoshino’s sickness and wrist problem. They probably figured it would take a while for her wrist to heal completely, AND create more manga to get far enough ahead of the anime. I refuse to believe that the anime is finished for good. :) And for all of you who believe Naruto, One piece, and Bleach are the best anime’s in the world, then you are sadly mistaken. I’ve watched nearly 60 anime shows and out of all of them those 3 are possibly the worst I have ever seen. Sure, okay, Naruto I was interested in…until every episode was a filler. Bleach, I tried watching it four times and every time I lost interest. One Piece, well the artwork drove me away in an instant. Talk about awful. DGM was beautiful, the voices fit them all perfectly(subbed that is) and it wasn’t like the other anime shows, it was unique and the battles were always intense. Just be looking out and waiting for episode 104 of DGM towards the end of 2010 or the begining of 2011. :)
~It’ll probably end up like Inuyasha and (sort of) FMA. No one believed that Inuyasha would continue and look at it now? The final 2nd series is complete, and with FMA they’ve completely redone the anime to follow the manga almost exactly. Have hope DGM fans :) I’m sure it will continue.

I’m still hoping that they will continue the story of d gray man!! I’m very disappointed about the last part of it. there is a lot of d gray man fans that is still waiting on the next episode. d gray man is a great anime !! so we will wait until the next episode will came!!..

If you actually bother reading the manga’s scanlations credits, you would notice that they are currently subbing the next season of the anime. Just like what some of you guys said, business sense. To boost up sales, they would probably release it.
Now, my rant: I think that Naruto and One Piece should get out. They probably hog up the whole anime waiting list. After watching the 20th episode of both, I also ask myself : WHY THE HECK AM I WATCHING THIS?

Another thing is that D. Gray-man has a high rating. And if you see the ratings, there’ll be a couple of 1/5 and 2/5. Those are probably the people who worship other anime and thinks that they’re doing their anime a favor by downgrading other anime/ So ignore those crap and the rest are probably: 4/5 and 5/5.
Lenalee hating, the other common problem. If you say she is useless, look at the manga where she totally KOed the Level 4.
In other words, I guess that the anime should be coming out.
I hope they continue the series as there are still manymany qns about the story like the new type of innocence and allen as the 14th . i saw that this anime had only 103 eps…when i was nearing the end (like ep 98) and knowing that this only had a couple of eps left i got curious(and found this site shortly after)…i thought- how could it end in just a couple of episodes?…this seriously had potential to go for like another 50,100, it was just depressing to see this…after listening to the “musician song” i fell in luv with this anime (kinda already really liked the anime but that just melted my core! i also play piano thats why that did it for me, am now learning it d(^_^)b!!!) … ive been hooked on it since of last week when i first began.
soo i find myself looking at a decision- just dont know if i should watch till the end or keep hoping that they’ll make more and put new episodes…i dont want to believe there is an end ^_^ ….yet…

I realize this is some really old stuff but I have to voice my opinion.
I hadn’t watched or read dgm until a few weeks ago, currently at episode 86 and I’m loving it. I don’t understand why they would stop the anime of such an intruiging show. Now I’m a huge fan of One Piece and Bleach, (Naruto, blech!) but dgm shares spot number one with One Piece for me. I was really getting into it and now I find out it ends at episode 103, it’s heartbreaking. I can hardly find the words to express how I feel about this.
I mean, it has more than enough material to continue so it just doesn’t make any sense…I do understand they need to make some sort of profit out of it to keep it going, but at the same time I don’t understand how they can betray people’s anticipation and expectations for such a greedy reason and I never will (if the case was that it stopped because of low sales and not enough profit was made from it). I guess money really is everything.
I’m depressed, pissed off, surprised and disappointed all at the same time. It’s amazing, really. I usually never feel that many emotions at the same time.
Oh well, I guess I’ll enjoy what’s left of the anime and maybe go on to the manga afterwards. I’ll treasure every single moment in the anime until it ends and pray tonight that the show will go on someday (although rather doubtful).

at the beginning I didn’t liked DGM because it just didnt look right. I mean come on a big clown looking thing as the boss villain wasn’t really that good. But the more I watched it the more it grew on me. I liked pretty much every thing about it apart from the main villain (the millenium Earl). I think the makers could have done a bit better with that character. Apart from that I love everything about it. i loved all the characters such as Lavi and kanda as wellthe Noah clan, the weapons the use were cool, the Black orders uniform looked great. I loved everything about it. It’s not just me that thought so, allot of my friends watched the anime and they’re just as dissapointed as I am that it’s not airing any more and I live in Europe. if it dose not start airing again then its going to be a BIG LOSS.

Well. It’s 2011! It’s still not New Year’s for us Asians but I still hope for D. Grey Man to continue! I finished D. Grey Man 12:04 this morning even though it was a school night. This year is full of 11′s so cross your fingers and hope for answers to those cliff hangers!

This is just my opinion for now D. Gray-man at least as an anime is over so one should not get their hopes up; on the other hand; However one has to remember that Inuyasha and Inuyasha:The Final Act were separated by 5 1/2 to 6 years 2004-2010 and The Final Act was not made until after the manga was finished, at the same time one needs to be aware that a series draws almost as much hype when it finishes as when it opens the fact that it is a Shonen Jump series or was at one point also makes the conditions for a revival more likely as such it is possible that the attention from the final issue and the publishing of the complete set might create an environment conducive to the rekindling of the series. By the same token it’s possible the series is truly finished, as it can be said of Inuyasha’s predecessor Ranma 1/2 which was never finished and has remained so for over a decade and half as well as series such as prince of tennis and the English dub of Case Closed, at the same time the author’s health issues are another obstacle, as is the series move from weekly to monthly publication 12 chapters per year vs 52 all in all I am a fan of the series and enjoy it immensely therefor I would be overjoyed if it did in fact return but I will state that by the analysis of both sides of the argument the chance of the series retuning in the next few years 2011-2013 are only at best around 35-40%

I’m a complete Anime nerd, and I’ve finished 27 and started countless more. I really liked D.Gray-man and will be going to the Manga to keep reading and enjoying the series. ^_^ I bought some of the early books of D.Gray-man for my bro for Christmas~
But what does being a D.Gray-man fan have to do with One Piece?
I’ve also seen pretty much every genre of Anime, and though I typically stay away from Shoujo, ecchi, and Magical girl, I’ve seen enough. I’ve seen everything from the super mainstream of Naruto and Bleach, to the obscure like Zombie Loan and Baccano!, to the cult hits of Cage Of Eden (manga, though) and Durarara!!, to the ‘genius’ series like Hellsing and Ghost In the Shell.
I’ve covered my bases in my long runs. I like most all genres, too. From Kenichi and Fairy Tail simplicity to Code Geass and DRRR!! depth and fun, I am a fan of the dark sides of Soul Eater and D.Gray-man to the brightness of Ouran Host and Gintama.
And I can tell that 99% of you who attacked One Piece didn’t watch more than five freaking minutes of it! Or you watched the 4 Kids dub, which if any of you have spent more than 3 seconds researching the series you’d know it’s GARBAGE. Judging the 4 Kids dub on OP is like saying the Avatar Movie made by M.Night Shymalan is a perfectly good judgment of the series of Avatar the Last Airbender. No. It isn’t.
So shut the freedom up. I don’t mind if you differ on your views of OP but most of you never even LOOKED INTO OP to find out. For those of you did, why hate? It’s a series that doesn’t really suit you. Okay? There are plenty of series that I’ve been told are just “Great” that I didn’t like. I don’t go around bashing them when a series is cancelled just because?
One Piece has been phenomenal lately and has been since CP9. The art may of started out bad, but they started making One Piece when they started making Pokemon and none of you stopped Pokemon due to bad art quality, hm? The art, however, has improved drastically. The latest episodes are sheer beauty of animation and the Manga’s details have gone way up. Just as the series started out simple, the series is now very complex and the plot quite interesting, and the art followed suit.
And OP is a comedy style Shounen, while D.Gray-man is an emotional heart wrencher. Comparing them is like saying, “How I Met Your Mother is so not as good as Lost.” Well, yes, I guess? But how the freedom do you even compare them? True, albeit, OP is fighting and Shounen so they are more similar, but come on. There’s a pretty big difference between the two. And both are good!
Yes, OP is long, but D.Gray-man was over 100 episodes. Long Shounens aren’t bad. So quit acting like they are. And OP has more than enough drama and pain, what with the main character’s brother dying and the like.
Anyway, it was just really frustrating. I came here looking for info on D.Gray-man being cancelled and every other post was an attack on One Piece?
I hope they continue D.Gray-man. They did with FMA becoming brotherhood and apparently they did with Inuyasha. Another one they need to do that for is Soul Eater. But, we’ll just have to wait and see. I don’t expect them to. I’ll just join everyone in the Manga and see how it goes. It was a really good and really enjoyable Anime that I’m glad I finally got around to watching.
I just finished DGM after staying up all night it was one of the best anime’s i have ever seen and ive seen 126 anime’s
can anyone tell me when will be the exact date of the continuation of DGM ??

I watch one piece, bleach, naruto, and basically every anime I can get a hold of. I feel all the anime’s bring their own unique entertainment to our lives and all should be celebrated. However this thread is about D gray man. In saying that… I feel sad that this anime was not afforded the opportunity to flourish. A lot of anime’s start out a little shaky and later become fantastic, in my opinion that is the case here also. I know it can rival the current long standing anime’s if only given the chance. My whole family signed the petition and I encourage you all to do the same. Hope, believe, have faith and support where you can. Together we can get it back! <3
OMG !! i hope the tsunami and earthquake that happened in japan doesn’t cause another hiatus on continuing the anime DGM or other anime !! and also lets pray for the safety of the japanese. i wish them to be safe and lets pray attemptively to God!!! its soooooo sad it ended with 103 episodes and i think they got alot of views but the first episode really turns people off but i do hope it continues if i had to pick a fav character its CROSS

wow this page has continual comments that start 3 years ago! Nice commitment D.Gray Man fans! I’m going to kill myself if they don’t continue the anime soon cause the chapters come out monthly and the last one came out 3 months ago and the new one was really short and supposedly the next new chapter comes out in august (not sure) and it’s getting to a REALLY FREAKING HUGE climax so it pains me every day to check my bookmark of the last chapter that came out and NOT have there be a new one out, I’ve even started to watch random chapters and episodes and watching the anime from the beginning, also all the manga I read (except Naruto) comes out monthly, around the same time so the rest of the month I’m searching up raw versions of them and when the next chapters will come out and putting it on all my calenders.

yeah i heard it will come out this summer.Hope that the new episodes will be even more intereting like the episode 80 to 103 thay were very thrilling.
Unless all that it is said i think that DGM will continue i just watch all the four openings of the anime and saw something.
In all the openings there were some clues to what will happen in the episodes at around Allen transformation.
Even in opening 2 it shows the playing card left by Allen where Tiki Mykk supposly killed him.
And at the end of opening 4 it shows like a final battle with the comte and a final blow given by Allen.
It seems that all was planified by Katsura Hoshino till the start of the series.
I still think that DGM will continue and that right now there just taking a break that they are taking.
well i have allowed myself to return to the episodes… but if i remember right… as things have turned out for allen in the end episodes the noah descendents will need to step up there game to be a challenge.

well i just read on the net (if its correct) that the d. grayman episode 103 is in relation to book chapter 157 since there are now 211 chapters to read as of dec. 2011 …. assuming people have been buying them so that the anime has income — then that should mean they can use the story lines from the chapters long past episode 103 so maby they will get around to finishing the series…. but as long as they are putting out manga books into 2012 maby they will have to make a lot more episodes to come….. this would also explain why the episodes havnt started up again as there ( still ) writing the storyline.
by the way i saw episode one of prince of tennis 2 ….. its clear that they are aware of the anime series the’ve made and and willing to continue the story lines …. the prince is older and looks like there using pc high deph so… i think not only is it possible for them to make more episodes of d gray man but the new episodes may end up looking a bit different with the high definition . another anime with high deph is a anime called the knight in the area so all anime made in todays time are being made with this technolegy

Man. There are so many die hard fans who have been waiting years for the next anime episode to air. To be honest, like most of you DGM has suddenly earned a very important spot in my list of favorite anime. Maybe someone should look for a reliable e-mail that the company uses and send them this link. The administration really needs to know how the fans are feeling for this many years, People are still craving for DGM to return to our lives just like Krory craves for Akuma blood.
