A movie entitled ‘Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha – The MOVIE 1st’ has been announced by the latest issue of Megami magazine. The movie, set to release this winter, will be like the first Nanoha series but non-canon, with new designs and settings and such. Nanoha and Fate will still be loli rivals in it (Moetron has ossum scans of the ossumness) but Bardiche, Fate’s weapon, will be getting a female VA this time around instead of the fairly deep male voice it had before.

And all I can coherently think at this point is, SQUEEEEEEEE WHOEVER THE ANIMATION COMPANY IS I WILL SERVE YOU LOYALLY FOREVER!!!!!!!

*COUGH* Even more interesting, though, is the title of the movie – “The MOVIE 1st” indicates to me that there’s more than one movie in the works. Perhaps they’ll do one for each TV series (a total of 3) or pull an Evangelion on us and pursue a different plot over the course of the movies? This movie’s already being reported as a reinterpretation of Nanoha and Fate’s initial rivalry (?) so maybe they’ll pull something different with Hayate and the others in a second movie.

Also announced was a drama CD set 3 years after StrikerS, featuring the rookies and Vivio (No Nanoha, Fate, or Hayate) and Kurogane also has some scans of their updated character designs. Vivio in particular is so cute~ <3

This made my day~~!! Hopefully the updated animation and writing will be as good as (preferably better than) the first series, and won’t be another random abomination in the anime movie realm. Chances of that are really slim, though, so let’s just party and surrender our souls to whatever promo art that comes out between now and the release. :D
