Studio Bones has allegedly let slip that they are planning a second season of Fullmetal Alchemist. According to Canned Dogs, a list of animators that was let loose over the internet (multiple people claimed to have seen it) revealed the existence of a Fullmetal Alchemist 2 and a Darker Than Black 2.
Like… woah. I love the anime companies all of a sudden. First you have the transferring of over9000 semi-abandoned titles to Funimation, which indicates flexibility, and then you have this fan-pandering coninuation of a beloved series that had a weak ending.
… I really hope this is not a mere rumor. ^_^;
I’m wondering what the FMA anime would accomplish in terms of plot, though. The manga’s gotten weird (we never get any of the army crew anymore!) and would be hard to adapt, since our band of heroes is sort of just wandering around waiting for a chance to accomplish *spoiler*.
But still; maybe the anime can finally give us the Ed/Winry Roy/Riza ending everyone Jenni the fangirls have been waiting for. ;D And Darker Than Black needs a sequel too, though I have no idea how that would go.
More on this when I track down the alleged page.

EDIT: Apparently it was a fake, but Bones is still considering doing FMA and DTB sequels. Crap.

And here I thought the fangirls were waiting for a Roy/Ed ending. (Not my OTP personally, but eh.)
Hey, I just want the guys back where they belong. ^_^ Well… okay, I’m not gonna lie. Some kind of closure for Roy and Riza would be nice. ANYTHING.
@gia: Not this fangirl.
