Wow, that was quite a convention. I was scheduled to do absolutely nothing but I ended up filling the weekend to the brim anyway. So let’s get on our way, shall we?

Colossal 2008 Report
Chocolate Underground episode 2
Episode 2 came and went, and I’m very surprised by how gripping the three minutes are. I keep wanting to find out more when it finishes, but I have to wait another week. I found a fansub group I liked for this, DATS. I really like the background music as well. Anyway, summery time…

I got a chance to play watch the kinetic novel tonight. With the exception of dinner (and it was hard to pull myself away), I didn’t think I would finish it all in one sitting. But I shouldn’t have underestimated a Key story. It’s a relatively short story at 4 hours (depending on your autoplay speed), but it will still be a memorable four hours spent. It’s longer than a standard movie after all; I wonder if it will be a movie or OVA when Kyoto Animation starts this project sometime in the future (oh you know they will).
OTL is back with the final two tracks of the second disc, subtitled Akiko-san no ban gohan, in the Kanon Minase san chi drama CD series. I think there are five CDs in all.
If you’re a Kanon fan, don’t miss out on these; they’re the best way to enjoy the Drama CDs. Previously you just had a translated text file to follow along as you listened to the audio, but OTL has merged all that by taking images from the game (adding in some of their own artwork as necessary) and turning the CD into a visual experience.
via ANN:
Five new anime series or sequels to existing series were announced today. The new series is Akane-Iro no Somaru Saka, which is based on an eroge. Rie Kugamiya and Aya Hirano have been confirmed as major seiyuu for the series, which is set to begin airing in October.
ef – a tales of memories is getting a TV sequel titled ef – a tale of melodies, which will also air this fall. It already has a website and promo posted, both of which are linked to in the ANN article. ToHeart2ad and Ichigo Marshmallow are both getting OVAs, with the former tenatively titled ToHeart2ad plus. It will be released in 2009, but no date has been set for Ichigo Marshmellow’s sequel. Finally, Major is getting a fifth season, which will start airing on TV in January 2009.
For xxxholic fans – Pipe Fox
Looking around the xxxholic community on livejournal, I saw tsunamichan had made a post showing off the pipe fox she’d made.
It’s really well made, and even posable. She’s also taking commissons on them, at least for the time being.
Anyway, there’s not much for me to say about it, it’s really something you have to go see for yourself.
Chocolate Underground 01
So I took a look at Chocolate Underground today. It’s five minutes long and can say it’s worth watching, if for anything, the opening sequence. Except, if you can find another fansub group then Animeplus, you might want to. It’s watchable, but the voices and the words did not match up very well, and I wasn’t impressed.
The best way to describe these five minutes is kinda scary, and a bit of a mindtrip. The tone remains serious, even over such a lighthearted thing, as chocolate.

Chocolate is serious business.
Howto: Make a Chibiusa Wig
I’ve been following this project since it’s conception, and I’m quite pleased with the results thus far. HezaChan has been hard at work styling a Chibiusa wig for her new cosplay, and she’s written a guide throughout the whole process. So if you ever feel the need to do this character, you’ve got one of the most detailed tutorials you can reasonably get. I can’t wait to see her progress on the remainder of the cosplay.
Colossalcon Prereport
Oh yes, it’s that time again. I’m shipping out to another convention. This time it’s Colossalcon, a 4 day convention taking place in Cleveland, Ohio. We’ve actually been invited out there several times, but this is the first time we’re actually making the trip.
Kanokon DVDs quite raunchy
Moetaku has subbed and released two bonus video shorts from Kanokon DVD volume 1 titled “Eizou Tokuten” (which very roughly means “special images”). Each are two minutes long, but they cross the line even further than the TV series. Add back in those nipply bits that were conveniently missing from the TV episodes for one — their presence in these shorts does change the feel of the series in a very guilty way (but whether or not you enjoy that is up to you).
