I was watching Appleseed:Ex Machina today, and on the dvd was an ad for what is to be the link between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. It’s an anime movie to be released July 8th.
Well, sort of. It’s actually a compilation of six shorts by six different directors.
Yasuhiro Aoki (Mind Game)
Futoshi Higashide (Air)
Toshiyuki Kubooka (Nadia, Gunbuster)
Hiroshi Morioka (Tsubasa)
Shoujirou Nishimi(Mind Game and Case Closed)
and
Jong-Sik Nam (He-Man: Masters of the Universe)
And I the only one who thinks one of these doesn’t belong?
It’s similar to the Animatrix released a few years back. At first when I heard about this, I was stunned. Now that’s it sunk in, it’s a very intriguing concept. A popular American figure being featured in Japanese animation, it’s an interesting mix.
And it looks fantastic for the most part. I preferred the trailer on the dvd, but here’s the ‘official’ one.

oshi one of them is gunna be a bawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwfest.
Pretty slick.
Terrible! The producers were into the artform and forgot about the plot. The movie was painful to watch; the high point was seeing the credits at the end and ejecting the disc from the DVD player. I am so glad that I sold my shares in Time-Warner stock.
@uroradman-If you hated it so much, can I have your copy? :D I haven’t seen it yet.
