Better late than never. Here are photos of Comptiq Heroines volume 9, released March 26, 2008. It’s the latest one until volume 10 comes out on May 26. Again, I can barely read any of it, but so far I’ve been buying them for the posters and goodies. ^^; The cover price is 780 yen, thirty more than before but still a bargain considering what’s inside. In this issue, Kanata joins Konata in her ninth straight appearance on the cover of this magazine. I don’t think it’ll ever stop, especially with the Lucky Star OVA coming along to give new momentum to the series.
All thumbnails in this entry are clickable for larger versions; I’ll take requests if anyone wants closer pictures or possibly scans.
The last issue had a Valentine’s Day theme to it. This one seems rather general. Old series of the previous season are reviewed while previews of summer and fall seasons appear.
The next few pages are opening advertisements before the table of contents. Here you see To Love Ru, Magical Heart Kokoro-chan, Myself; Yourself, Shigofumi, Kiminozo, My ZHiME, and Ah! My Goddess.
After a Mnemosyne ad, the grand TOC. Then 11 pages of Lucky Star. Content includes a timeline of media release with lots of details (I see a 2D fighter in there), a spot on Konno Hiromi and Akira, some merchandise, bonus 4koma, and advertisements for the concurrently published Comptiq and Comp Ace magazines. Both have Konata on the cover. It looks like the Comp Ace comes with playing cards. And then an ad for a hardcover artbook titled Chronicle.
Next up is 14 pages of Clannad. We start with info about “Nagisa My Love” along with an interview with Nakahara Mai. The coverage continues with a quick story review of all 22 episodes along with a few messages from the rest of the voicecast. I can’t quite tell what the last two pages are about.
More advertisements here before the next bit.
The “Wake Up!! H’s” section includes poster-size spreads with information of the latest series. Pictured are To-Love-Ru, Zero no Tsukaima 3, Kanokon, Hidamari Sketch x365, and Twin Angel.
Advertisements for Da Capo before a spread on Da Capo II: Second Season. Then a really cute poster for Higurashi 3. After that, Oinari-sama, Strike Witches, and Kyouran.
Ads.
Minami-ke: Okawari artwork is here, plus a character relationship chart.
The “H’s Garden” section showcases reader-submitted art with commentary. The Hobby section covers the gothloli Haruhi figure along with others released or releasing soon. They have CheckPoints much like DKellis. Following is DVD, music CD, game, and book information. And then another Comp Ace ad.
The “Crisis x Climax” section, abbreviated as “KuraxKura” contains information on Bamboo Blade, Shana II, Kimiaru, true tears, Hayate no Gotoku!, Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, H2O, Rental Magica, Rosario to Vampire, and ARIA: The Origination.
Here we have Mnemosyne, Yotsunoha, Koharu Biyori, four pages of Kara no Kyoukai, and four pages of My-ZHiME 0~S.ifr~.
Ad.
“Welcome to Maid Kingdom!” starts with information about Maid Guy but then goes into information about meido characters in all recent anime, including Maria, Siesta, Yui, and Mahoro among many others. Cute!
“V-scramble” (V for voice) interviews Tomatsu Haruka. Then a lovely spread on Minori Chihara’s first live tour, ~Contact~. Then ads: find the closest Gamers store to you!
This section covers presents: either those the magazine has received or those you can obtain. Then a chart of posters and images you should have gotten already in previous issues. If not, I think this page is a catalogue for ordering prints. Then magazine credits and more ads.
We conclude with some final advertisements and then the back cover. Then the Tomoyo clear file. I wish I could bring myself to use it, but I feel happier just collecting it I guess. But then it doesn’t get shown off? But what if it gets scuff marks? :( What do you guys do?
If you’ve been looking for poster scans, visit Moe Imouto; the people there either work at Kadokawa Shoten and leak these scans or have access to industrial-sized scanners. I can’t match their quality. ^^;
Hope you enjoyed it! Please give recommendations if there’s a way I can present these magazines better in the future. Also, do translate the articles for me if you have free time! I’d be happy to post stuff here if you don’t have a blog of your own.

Meido! Long-haired Shiki! Wow, this volume really delivers for me. xD And Tomoyo’s clear file is amazing. xP I know what you mean, though…. I hate using my clear files for anything. T_T Between me and Lissa, we’ve only got three, but I use ‘em for storing the posters I take out of magazines. xP Maybe I’ll eventually frame them, or something. But that Tomoyo one~ Put it up on the wall! Use thumb-tacks! (To hold the corners, of course – don’t impale the thing. xD)
Oh yeah, did this volume come with posters? I don’t remember if H’s includes that kinda stuff. T_T Bleck.
I LOVE that Lucky Star spread! KAAAANAAATAAA! <3
Thanks for the report, Crisucchi! XD
Yes it comes with posters. ^^ Didn’t you take a bunch out of the volume 8 I got you to sell?
But I didn’t take pictures of those since super scans are available on Moe Imouto, and I’m sure that’s what people want anyway.
awesome lucky star scans, man…..wordpress represent ;)
