Hello everyone, I’m the new guy. I go by Rakuen, or Aaron, use whichever one you like. I’ll be reviewing some new stuff, some old stuff, and posting about the conventions I go to. I hope everyone enjoys my writing. Now, on with the review!
King of Bandit Jing follows the exploits of Jing the… King of Bandits, exactly as it says on the tin. Jing isn’t your common thief by any means, nor is he an anime rendition of the Robin Hood archetype. He is motivated by his desire to acquire unique objects and observe unique experiences. However, he is also very kind-hearted, and will help anyone or anything that crosses his path. Naturally, since most of these excursions can be shown in the span of a single episode, any semblance of a plot gets thrown out the window. Jing is entirely episodic, or as Mark Twain put it, “Persons attempting to find a plot will be shot.” There is no overarching story or character development, just lots of the funny.
