Lloyd Irving (Tales of Symphonia) – 47
Ladd Russo (Baccano!) – 252
Ryuuguu Rena (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai) – 271 (47.5% of 570 votes)
Rena omochikaeri’d them all! Ladd Russo had the lead for a while but Rena came from behind for the win.
Oh and something I didn’t notice until now: Battles 52 and 57 (Round B.2b and E.2a) are being replayed because of “irregularities in the results.” Well according to the voting graphs for the two contests, the winner did get a spike of votes in the last few hours or so. So I guess that’s the reasoning behind the re-battle. I’m not sure if voting has already ended, since the battles are labelled 2/15, or if the period is extended an extra day. But I’ll report the results as I discover them.
Battle 52 (Group B, Round 2b)
Alucard (Hellsing Ultimate)
November 11 (Darker than BLACK)
Kino (Kino’s Journey: The Beautiful World)
Battle 57 (Group E, Round 2a)
Kittan (Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann)
Lunar’s Papa (Seto no Hanayome)
Jonathan Joestar (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood)
EDIT: Saturday, February 16 is the remacth for battles 52 and 57. Same as always; voting goes until 6 pm EST. ~CJ
Other than that, we’re now through with Round 2! SaiGAR takes a two-day break before Round 3 voting starts.
On Monday, February 18, at http://saigar08.michaeldodd.net/:
Battle 65 (Group A, Round 3)
Hosaka (Minami-ke)
Itou Kaiji (Kaiji)

This tournament needs to be a little bit less SaiPROXY and a little bit more SaiGAR.
Rena wins as predicted, taking both Ladd and Lloyd home. The next Round will be very difficult against Claire now.
I don’t know if proxies are involved. It seems more like those that take SaiGAR seriously have stopped voting, but the rest of us, along with the trolls and SaiLulz crowd have stayed. We haven’t seen any real high totals in Round 2. At least not as high as those in Round 1. Only Kamina got over 500 votes in Round 2 with Simon, Lord Genome, and Hosaka being the only others to pull over 400 votes. (With JoJo and Kino’s wins in question there is a chance for at least one more 400+ winner (JoJo or Kittan…Kino and 11/11 didn’t score that high before)). Maybe Round 3 voting will pick up, but with all the disappointed people, the numbers keep going down.
And if that continues, who’d be surprised at a 50-vote final turn-out?
Rena’s vote total spiked at the end? Hmmmmm… looks mildly suspicious. But then again, I voted at 5:15, so maybe all the school-age HiguKai fans waited til their school/after-curriculars were over to vote…
Anyway, Rena’s win is most likely legit, because IMHO she’s the GARLiest GARL in anime history. Cleaver~ XD;;
And it’s interesting (read: GOOD) that they’re redoing Kittan’s round, because he’s more GAR than Jojo (isn’t that who won the first time around? @_@)
A 50 vote final? Maybe. But at that point those that have been saying ‘Kamina will win anyway’ will be gone because it will be a face off between Kino and Rena. As amuzing at that might be, I have doubts that Rena or Kino can last past Round 4. Rena maybe, if she’s against G Block…there no one there really. Kino would be against A Block Hosaka…she’d not getting by Hosaka. The ‘GAR for Archer’ theme goes with Hosaka. The GL crowd will be strong, and K1 from C Block will be against D Block….that will be interesting.
(I’m assuming winners at this point from by borrowing…it may not be accurate in any way or form. But it looks like the trend at the moment)
Edit: (How did I type that so wrong before?)
