Trinity Blood has to have one of the best animation qualities in all anime. The art style is fantastic, and only adds to the great storyline. The series sports a whopping amount of lead characters, but the ones that get the most screentime have to be the hopeful couple-Abel and Esther.

Esther is a nun who is entering the Vatican, hoping to serve as best she can. Abel meets her and gives her some pointers, which goes haphazardly (he’s a huge klutz). Abel is also seen protecting Esther on occasion, even if she is unaware. She can defend herself, of course, with her concealed SHOTGUN. Jeez, what are they giving kids these days…

Competitors in the Esther race would include Ion and the Pope, Ion being an heir to the throne, and Pope…well, being the pope that he is. Pope is always good for a laugh, or to accuse him of being yaoi bait. (Either way, I prefer Ion and Esther…)

Anyway, Esther realizes how tough it is to go on with Abel when he dies. For all the shocked faces out there, he does come back to life…I won’t say how though.
Still, Abel and Esther hint at wanting each other through the series, and Abel saves her on regular occasion. It’s safe to say that this is the most obvious couple in many anime (the ending theme kicks that into gear).
