Titled, “Unraveling” and “Impulses,” these next two episodes do symbolize just that. Haruka begins to become more aware of her surroundings, and Mitsuki, basically in a stalemate without an answer from Takayuki or an answer for herself, begins to open her le– her interests to other people.

Quick Summary
Takayuki spends more time at the hospital with Haruka, which seems to cheer up Akane some. At work, Takayuki is offered a new job which pays more but takes up more of his time. Mitsuki and Takayuki continue not to speak to each other much, and he even is home less. Mitsuki spends more time with her coworker, too, who has her own similar story to share. Haruka continues her recovery and becomes very suspicious of how much time has passed. And then finally Akane tells Haruka that everything’s been a lie, and this puts her into a state of shock. Meanwhile Mitsuki, seemingly desperate, has taken Shinji to bed (not his fault).
Thoughts
Oh it just gets crazier now; I should be keeping a relationship chart. And now the fourth person, Shinji, finally gets dragged into the mess of things. I’d been wondering, too, since it seems he was going after a classmate instead. But now that Mitsuki has offered herself, will his feelings change?

Regarding Haruka’s mental health, I wonder if I should retract my statements from earlier entries. I have little knowledge about comas, recovery of comas, and medicine. So perhaps it’s legitimate that she is just fuzzy in the head even though she appears fully awake. At least in these episodes, Haruka starts to take notice of her long hair; it certainly couldn’t have grown that much overnight. She notices how thinner and weaker her fingers are, and she scans the book Takyuki gave her for a copyright date; smart of him to bring her one that was printed three years ago instead of recently. So she’s taking notice definitely, and then Akane spills everything at the end, which has Haruka panic herself into sickness again. The doctor’s “Happy now?” left a really guilty feeling as episode 10 closed. But it’s been so long, and there was Takayuki, who has become unsure of things again; I can see where Akane just got so frustrated at everything.
Did it seem like she was starting to take a liking to Takayuki? Reminds me of Hinako to Sana in Myself;Yourself a little bit. She later says though that she hated the situation where he was so nice and so likeable when he had also done some despicable things. When you’re mad at someone, you want to be condescending and want the accused to be submissive .. in order to make up for things. That’s how Akane was to Mitsuki when she would refuse to hear her apology; “You have to suffer more,” Akane said. And she’s trying to do the same to Takayuki, but he’s the one Haruka wants to see, and he also does it so well that Akane can’t find any fault in him regarding it .. and that’s annoying.
Anyway, Mitsuki and Takayuki, though still together, aren’t really happy together. I’m sure she’ll still throw her body at him to make sure he stays hers, but if he’s not even home to be seduced, what can she do? I probably should feel a little sorrier for her, but so much other stuff is going on, it seems she’s the easiest to hate. While I still don’t like how she imposed herself on Takayuki three years ago, since then she’s just been trying to help or fix things … and taking care of herself, too. I know what it feels like to really want the physical part of a relationship as much as the emotional part, and she’s losing both at the same time, which leaves very little to go on.
Her coworker isn’t having the best of times either. I said earlier I was happy Mitsuki had her around for some advice from a more experienecd person, and I still am; I just wasn’t expecting for there to be still something going on. Coworker is getting a divorce and talking about how she doesn’t really love him anymore, but that’s different because Mitsuki still has feelings. But should she still keep them, or is it time to let go and think forward again? It’s just a tough answer after so long. As for the drunk scene and the Shinji scene, it’s too soon for me to say anything; that was just one night to try something new … to get some desires out and then later think about.

Ayu played a slightly larger role here; I guess she has a lot of money. o.o But maybe her parents are making her work at a restaurant just so she can grow up a little and not be so bratty? That’s my guess. Maybe she’ll continue to have a role in helping Takayuki get out of his own funk, but who knows. She gained a few points with me but not too many.
About Takayuki, he has his job to consider. If he is going to stick with his current plans and live together with Mitsuki, the new job would work great — more money, more prestige. And the series is making you well aware of the unemployment crisis in Japan, so him being offered a job for free is really special. But accepting it would mean a greater sacrifice of time, something he already doesn’t have enough of. And now being with Haruka is stirring his heart again. But what is it, really? Is it really her, or is it just the nicer relationship without the problems of reality that he and Mitsuki face? Even if he totally jumped ship again and stuck it out with Haruka, they’ll eventually hit those problems again. He’s been the one that needs taking care of; Mitsuki did a whole lot of cooking and cleaning at the apartment. He’s just not owning up to his responsibilities, going wherever is most convenient at the present. Nothing can end well that way…
So with four episodes left, things will probably only get worse now until some resolution in ep14. Takayuki’s going to find out about Mitsuki and Shinji, I’m sure, although it’s not Shinji’s fault. They might have a fight, too, but hopefully it will involve Takayuki being told something he needs to know. I hope everything ends well for Akane, too, who doesn’t deserve all this pain and pressure.

And I’m missing the symolism of the tattered doll in the rain.
